Technical Game Designer

Somerville was the passion project of Chris Olsen, who founded JUMPSHIP along with Dino Patti in order to complete the game. I joined the studio in october 2018, initially as an intern. We were a 6 person team at the time. The team and project grew and changed with time until its eventual release in November 2022. We worked on a couple of additional updates to the game following its release.

MY ROLES:

  • Game Design: Helping firgure out the game's core systems.
  • Interaction Design.
  • Prototyping in Unity.
  • Helped facilitate communication between designers and coders.
  • Gameplay Programming.
  • Tools Design & Programming in Unity.
  • I built and coded the game's main 'Scripted Logic' system, for designers to interact with coders' systems.
